This was and always will be an incredibly memorable project. In a way, it feels like a world series for me. Over the course of 2 and a half years, we completely restored five interior floors, five parking garages and an entire exterior campus. We installed 56 new Exterior Signs, 2,782 Interior Signs, and painted 482,000 Sq Ft.

While the overall project design seems straightforward, the development was anything but. To get to a solution this clean and modern, it took months of collaboration and refinement. The goal of course was to make the entire visitor experience feel like a single, seamless journey. And in the end, I am proud to say it does. Working alongside the interior designers at the hospital we created a slew of custom solutions to make veterans and their families feel supported from the very start.

Some of the notable, custom project highlights include:
• Exterior planter boxes on the main monuments painted to mimic real wood
• Wall protection garage elevator surrounds to both hide age and protect from future wear
• Custom-ordered interior laminate finishes to ensure consistent, reliable color-coding
• Custom printed wall protection at critical intersections to create wayfinding "Landmarks"
• Custom-engineered sanitizer stations designed for the specific facility maintenance components

Yet, one of my favorite parts of the project are these supportive art panels inside the parking garage. The client came to me and said: "I'd like some kind of unique artwork near the new outdoor benches." And from that small request alone I wrote, hand-selected photography and designed these plaques that respectfully invite you to appreciate the region of Atlanta, Georgia.
